Andy: What's up man.
Paul Brisbin: How the hell are ya?
Andy: Well, first off, how old are you?
Paul Brisbin: I am 20 years old.
Andy: What characters do you have right now, in which feds?
Paul Brisbin: I currently only handle one wrestler. A guy named Havoc. I'm active
in both the SCW and the CSWA.
Andy: What's some of the old characters you have had in the past?
Paul Brisbin: Good lord, where to start. I've handled BloodHound, Vulture,
Tombstone, Gladiator, Hiroshi Yosaki, CloaK, Mighty Ric Samson, Don 'The
Magic' Juan, UnHoly Father (temp), Hector 'NEEDLES' Ruiz (temp), Will
'The Thrill' Cena (temp)... oh... Havoc, too :)
Andy: What's the things that make participating in e-feds fun for you?
Paul Brisbin: I like to be creative and I enjoy writing, so... it's also a good way
to relieve stress.
Andy: Or add to the stress, sometimes?
Paul Brisbin: Sometimes... You really can't let this stuff GET to you, though...
Yeah, things that happen can piss me off on occassion... but it's all
about how you deal with what you're dealt.
Andy: Any drawbacks to it?
Paul Brisbin: Drawbacks? Time constraints can be difficult, but... It's all a part
of the game.
Andy: Using WebTV, does that ever present problems with the ongoings of it?
Paul Brisbin: Well... not having AOL IM or ICQ limits the communication between
handlers to email only. Which is a pain. But WebTV is cool because you
can just lounge on your couch with dinner in front of you while you
check the Wrestling Sheets... which is always cool.
Andy: I would bet. Actually, I'm getting some good 'ol chili while doing
this
interview. :) The funny thing is, a few years back, people were all
excited about how fast e-mail is. And now, it seems that most don't even
think that's good enough. AIM or ICQ! Those are what is fast now. Funny
how times and opinions change so quickly in a few years.
Paul Brisbin: God bless Chilli. People arenever happy. Instant gratification, my
man. Instant gratificaton.
Andy: Is there ever any "mindset" you get into before writing?
Paul Brisbin: I think I know where you're going with this, but I'll avoid the
obvious answer :) Believe it or not... I do my best roleplays right
after I get out of work-- I sit on the couch and watch Howard Stern on E
and all of the sudden... from out of nowhere... Havoc comes out. Strange
Phenomenon indeed.
Andy: Actually, never tried to go that direction. But....nah. Could it be a
strange connection between Jackie that reminds you of HaVoC? Heh...take
it how you wish!
Paul Brisbin: Funny, Andy. Real funny. Hey, I can't explain it... but RIGHT NOW,
I'm watching Howard Stern talk a girl into her panties... How can that
NOT inspire you?
Andy: Well, moving on to pro wrestling, who would you say some of your
favorites are?
Paul Brisbin: Bret Hart is always great and I'm digging his new angle with the nWo.
I've always been an Outsiders-Mark... RVD is an amazing ring worker, his
matches are always entertaining. Same with the Rock. And yes, Andy... I
do like Vampiro.
Andy: Vampiro! You know what it's all about, then!
Paul Brisbin: You're damn right I do.
Andy: Are you really for or against the new WCW style?
Paul Brisbin: I love it. I like that the PTB are being phased off of television...
and I like the direction they're moving in...
Andy: Well, what's some of the things you like to do in your free time?
Paul Brisbin: I, obviously, watch wrestling... play guitar... listen to music...
read some comic books (ANDY!! BUY THE WATCHMEN!!)
Andy: Man, I swear, I'm going to buy it sooner or later. It seems like
whenever I get some free money, it just disappears. But I know I'll get
it soon. You've promoted it too good to me for me to not get it!
Paul Brisbin: I'm telling you. It changed the way comics were written.
Andy: What kind of guitar do you have?
Paul Brisbin: I've got a 27 year old ovation acoustic. Beautiful guitar,
seriously... But I noticed a few months ago it has a crack in it. It was
a gift from my Dad so I was a little pissed about it.
Andy: Where was the crack at? Any idea what it was from?
Paul Brisbin: Maybe an accumulation of humidity or something, I'm thinking. It
still plays fine, though. It's right on the front... hard to see,
really...
Andy: What kind of music are you into?
Paul Brisbin: Not huge into Rap. I like NWA. Hate country. If i listen to the
radio, I'm usually listening to the classic rock station, believe it or
not. New Music irritates me... unless it's Radiohead :)
Andy: So no punk rock, I'm guessing....?
Paul Brisbin: Well... The closest I get to Punk is Misfit's ScumTribe.
Andy: But, your favorite band overall would be.....
Paul Brisbin: The Beatles... or radiohead... hmm...
Andy: Would you say that music helps set you into the mode to start
roleplaying?
Paul Brisbin: Not really... I use music in my roleplays to set the tone for the
whole thing. The music has to fit what's going on in the roleplay.
Andy: Well man, I know you knew it had to be mentioned....when's Zero
getting
Karen back from HaVoC?!?! Heh
Paul Brisbin: I think that's something that we should leave for THEM to decide.
Stop meddling in their affairs, Bloxham!... lol.
Andy: Haha! Man, the guy's (Zero) all depressed about it, I think. Maybe if
you could slip HaVoC a hint?
Paul Brisbin: That's the point, Andy! Of course he's depressed! I thought that was
the whole idea behind the angle! (In my best impression of Cyrus the
Virus) --"Don't kayfibe these fans!"
Andy: I was talking to Kent, and he said that a match he would love to have
one day would be a Blade/HaVoC/Zero match. I think it was almost about
to happen a while back, but what would you think of a match such as
that?!
You never know when things will happen.
Paul Brisbin: I've thought about it a few times... and in my opinion, that should
have been the headliner for HEW's Final Pay-Per-View.
Andy: That would of been cool. I would of liked to of seen it, too. Oh
well,
though. Things happen.
Paul Brisbin: What are you hinting at you diabolical bastard!
Andy: Well man, in closing, any comments you'd like to say to anyone before
ending?
Paul Brisbin: Hmmm... I think I've said my peace. Just remember... if you
ain't down with Havoc... he'll PUT you down. You gotta close it with an
old catchphrase!
Andy: Alright man, catcha lates.
Paul Brisbin: Peace and Chickengrease
