Andy: How's it going man?
Anthony LaCassa: Pretty good...how you doing?
Andy: Doing pretty good . . . survived y2k :)
First off, what character(s) do you handle?
Anthony LaCassa: I handle "The Specialist" Tony Rolo
Andy: Which fed are you in?
Anthony LaCassa: I am currently in the IfWc
Andy: How old are you?
Anthony LaCassa: 19
Andy: How did you get started in fantasy wrestling to begin with?
Anthony LaCassa: Well, it's kind of a long story. I'll give the shortened version. While surfing the net I found e-feds one day. At the time, I was too busy for them. Then one weekend, I had a dissapointing date with this girl and I was down on it. I needed something to cheer me up, so I tried fantasy wrestling. And I don't know how, but it took care of all my problems.
Andy: And you just got hooked on them?
Anthony LaCassa: OH YEAH!!! My parents blamed fantasy wrestling for my grades last semester. But I showed them this semester by pulling off a 3.7...hehehe.
Andy: I can understand that! Is Tony Rolo the only character you've ever handled?
Anthony LaCassa: As a matter of fact, he is. Since I started fantasy wrestling 11 months ago, I've just been so comfortable with him that he's the only character I've ever wanted to use. I've molded him into a fun character to roleplay and that's why I like him so much...he's fun.
Andy: And that's what fantasy wrestling should be about, I think. Just having fun with a character you created . . .
Anthony LaCassa: Exactly
Andy: What's the things that make you really enjoy the whole aspect of roleplaying and everything else associated with it?
Anthony LaCassa: I think it's the creativity of it that really gets me into it. There's also a sense of accomplishment after you've finished a really good roleplay. I love that feeling.
Andy: Do you like to write, as well?
Anthony LaCassa: Not really...but I do like to make people laugh, and that's what I try to do in my roleplays. And if I can make people laugh through writing, then that's how I'll do it.
Andy: What would you say makes fantasy wrestling so much fun overall for you?
Anthony LaCassa: I like the family environment that my current fed, IfWc, has. I'm close with a lot of the guys and I consider a few of them to be good friends of mine. It makes the whole experience a lot more fun cause I have friends to share it with.
Andy: That's cool. Do you ever find anything in fantasy wrestling that you can't stand?
Anthony LaCassa: Yeah...I can't stand people who constantly whine or ask for pushes. I paid my dues like everyone else should. But for the most part, it's the younger kids that act like that. So I can understand, because that's all part of growing up. I'm sure that I would have been the same way if I was involved in fantasy wrestling at the age of 14.
Andy: On that note, do you think fantasy wrestling is a game more orientated for kids anyway? Or something made more to cater to adults, and the younger people jumped in, too?
Anthony LaCassa: In all seriousness, I think it's more suited for adults much in the same way that WWF, and WCW more recently, is orientated for adults. Kids can play the game too, but they'll have more fun if they're mature about it.
Andy: I agree. Feds where there are more adult handlers always have a more . . . mature feel?
Anthony LaCassa: yes, I totally agree
Andy: Well, from FW to pro wrestling, who are some wrestlers you like to watch?
Anthony LaCassa: My favorite is without a doubt The Rock. I also can't get enough of Scott Hall. Besdies them some of my favorites are The Dudley Boyz, Mick Foley, Bret Hart, and Jerry Lynn.
Andy: Do you have a favorite overall fed?
Anthony LaCassa: I prefer WWF over WCW and ECW. But since Russo and Ferrara left for WCW, I have enjoyed all 3 feds. So, I guess I'm just really happy with the current wrestling world.
Andy: Besides wrestling related things, what are some other things you like to do in your free time?
Anthony LaCassa: I like to hang out with my friends, go to the movies, and chase girls.
Andy: Seen any good movies lately?
Anthony LaCassa: Actually, I have. I saw Man on the Moon a few days ago. I really liked it. I wouldn't really suggest Sleepy Hollow to anyone, though. It isn't a bad rent, but for $8 there are better movies out there.
Andy: Have you seen "The Green Mile" yet?
Anthony LaCassa: Yep...I saw that the day it came out. Great movie and I suggest it as a good date flick. I'm not as big of a "movie buff" as I might be coming off as being. My roommate is a film major, so I see a lot of these films because he recommends them.
Andy: Ohh, I gotcha. The book was awesome, I just haven't been able to see the movie yet. When writing roleplays, do you ever use song or style of music to get you in the mindset? Or do you really need to get into any mindset before doing it?
Anthony LaCassa: Not really...I'm weird about that stuff with roleplaying. Sometimes I'm just on a roll. But other times, I just can't seem to come up with anything. I don't know what puts me in the mood yet. I hope I can figure it out though.
Andy: Roleplaying can be weird like that. What kind of music would you say you are into, though?
Anthony LaCassa: I'm into a lot of different kinds. I like some rap, but not too much of it. I am into a lot of alternative, too. I even like 80's music...in fact, I love 80's music. My favorite current bands are Blink 182, The Barenaked Ladies, and Dave Matthews Band.
Andy: Blink 182! Getting on over into the "punk rock world." :)
Anthony LaCassa: Yep...I love those guys.
Andy: Have you seen the home video they released?
Anthony LaCassa: Nope, I can't say I have. Is it any good?
Andy: Well, if crude jokes, blurred male nudity, funny jokes, sneaky cameras that show up when you wouldn't want them to show up, and overall attempts of each band member trying to proove how gay the other band members are, would make you laugh, yeah, it's good!
Anthony LaCassa: Sounds like something I need to check out...although, I'm not really into that male nudity stuff, hehehe.
Andy: Heh. You said your roommate. What college are you attending?
Anthony LaCassa: I go to Loyola University at Chicago
Andy: What is your major?
Anthony LaCassa: Accounting...for some reason I like working with numbers.
Andy: Well man, wrapping up, is there anything else you'd like to say to those reading this?
Anthony LaCassa: Yeah...I'd just like to tell them thank you for taking the time to read this interview that you were kind enough to conduct with me. And I hope that everyone out there had a happy and safe New Years.
Andy: Alright man, well, it was fun! I'll catcha later.
Anthony LaCassa: Take it easy man...thanks for this opportunity.
